Aa en Hunze municipality ends 2023 with €2.3 million surplus
The municipality of Aa en Hunze closed 2023 with a positive result of €2.3 million. That is in its annual report and accounts for 2023, which the municipal executive has adopted.
According to alderman Kiena ten Brink, the surplus is partly due to a profit on land development and to extra income from the general grant from central government, the tourist tax and fees. Against that were higher costs because of inflation and rising wages under collective agreements, among other things for public green spaces, swimming pools, sports halls and care.
The annual accounts are on the agenda of the council meeting on Thursday 27 June, together with the 2024 interim report, an update on current activities. The municipality concludes that it is on course with most of them.
