A monthly information point about dementia is starting in De Boerhoorn in Rolde. People with dementia, informal carers, family members, neighbours and fellow villagers can go there for a listening ear, practical tips and information.
The first drop-in is on Monday 9 November between 13.00 and 15.00. The information point coincides with the drop-in hour of the village desk of Naoberhulp Rolde and surrounding area.
The initiative also focuses on the surroundings of people with dementia. Contacts with friends, neighbours or associations can change when someone develops dementia. As a result, people sometimes withdraw, while ordinary encounters in the village can provide support and reassurance.
Anyone who notices that contact is becoming more difficult, or wants to know how you can help as a neighbour, friend or family member, can drop in at the information point.
